The Most Common Problem: Hair Loss

Hair loss (alopecia) affects only the scalp or the whole body: it can be temporary or permanent.  It can be a normal part of heredity, hormonal changes, disease or aging.  Anyone can lose their hair, but it is more common in men.

It is problem of the hair follicles.  Hereditary and age is the most common cause of baldness.  Some people like to lose their hair without treatment և do not hide.  Others may hide it with hair, makeup, a hat or a scarf.  Others choose one of the existing procedures to prevent further hair loss or to restore their growth. It’s has become a great problem in women these days, women consider their hair a part of their beauty. When the hair gets thin it’s a problem for them to put the hairstyle they want. There are hairstyles for thin hair women to hide their hair loss and make them look beautiful.

Symptoms

Symptoms can differ from person to person. Some people may have a gradual loss of hair and others may have a gradual hair loss. It can be limited to the scalp or it can be all over the body. The most common symptoms may include:

·         Hair thinning on the top of the head

his hair loss can be seen in people with aging. Men will have hair loss more in the hairline. Hair falling may start from the hairline in the forehand. In women, they will have overall balding with the hairline in the same position.

·         Circular or Patchy

Some people will have areas of patches due to hair loss in the head, beard, and eyebrows. This can also be itchy.

·         General Hair Loss

This can be hair loss in the whole body. This is most commonly due to factors like chemotherapy for cancer. Hair will grow back after this problem is solved.

·         Patches with Scaling

This can cause broken hair, swelling, and redness. This can be a symptom of ringworm disease.

Causes

·         Pregnancy

When you are pregnant, your hormones will change drastically and it can be the main reason for hair loss.  This makes it obvious that pregnancy can increase the risk of hair loss.  After childbirth, when your hormones change again, the extra hair that you lost will get back to normal.  Everything should be balanced in 3-6 months.

·         Birth Control

Hormonal birth control methods such as oral contraceptives, transplants, injections, vaginal rings, and patches can cause hair loss in your family.  Your doctor may recommend a non-hormonal alternative to help you retain more hair.

·         Hair Styling

Sometimes you have to blame your style when your hair starts to break or fall out.  Excessive shampooing, wet brushing or combing, towel drying, or combing or combing too often can stretch your strands to make them brittle.  The two main causes of fractures include stronger, heavier braids.

·         Medicines

Something the hair loss can be a side effect of the medicine you take. The side effects of most medicines are hair loss. Medicines that are high in vitamin A, have blood-thinning properties, depression, heart problems, and so on. You can consult a doctor if you have explained hair loss and have serious problems.
